I made it to the shoot on time at 8:00am (even though it took almost an hour to drive 15 miles) and was ready to do some work. Here is how the schedule was supposed to go:
8:00am Call time
9:00am Dress and makeup
10:30M Shoot javelin throws
12:00pm Be done
And here is how it really went:
8:00am Call time
9:00am Get a little more breakfast
10:00am Move from breakfast area to make-up
11:00am Actually get makeup done
12:00pm Warm up to throw javelin
1:00pm Realize they are way behind on the shoot
2:00pm Lunch
3:00pm Lay down on the track and try to nap
4:00pm Move from the track and try to sleep on the grass
5:00pm Actually do the Shoot!
With barely any daylight left we got some really cool slow motion video of me throwing Jav. I really hope a lot of it gets used because it was some pretty cool looks.
Here's the talent hangout:
The track while others were on set:
The long jump shoot:
If you would have asked me if the day was a success at 3:00 I would have said no way! But getting some cool javelin videos during the "Magic Hour" made it worth it. As the shoot ended I started on my way back to SLO when I got a call from my agent that I was wanted tomorrow for a high jump audition. Not wanting to drive another 6 hours I called an old friend from college who lives on the east side of LA for a place to stay. So spending the night in Loma Linda and then hitting a track tomorrow for a little workout before the next audition.
I'll tell you one thing, it can be fun going to casting calls and auditions.......but I CANT wait to get back home.
